Experience
The editor of Wrecking Ball Press credited me for proofreading this novel by A. P. Wolf.
I proofread Vagabond once on-screen and once in hard-copy format.
This was the only occasion when I proofread at the final stage before publication, owing to the editor being impressed with my previous effort.
He also lives in the same city as me - Hull - meaning it was no problem to collect the final proofs.
I still did not use proofreading symbols, which made no difference to the editor.

Author Mark Davis credited me for proofreading his non-fiction book Tenby & Saundersfoot Through Time.
This title features blocks of text alongside old and new photographs of Britain's Tenby & Saundersfoot, with the more modern shots captured by Mr Davis, who is a professional British photographer.
Jerry Bloom of Wymer UK credited me for subediting and proofreading Hazel O’Connor’s autobiography Breaking Glass Barefoot .
Miss O'Connor has led a varied, interesting, and exciting life. You do not need to be familiar with her music or acting career to enjoy this book.
This is the acknowledgement page of Hazel O'Connor's Breaking Glass Barefoot , featuring my name credited as subeditor and proofreader.
I did not, however, check this page before publication, hence why 'proofreading' is incorrectly spelled as two words, and why 'subediting' is wrongly hyphenated!

Jerry Bloom of Wymer UK credited me for editing and proofreading The Man Who Hated Walking, by Overend Watts, of Mott The Hoople.
You don't need to be a Mott fan or a walking enthusiast to read Mr Watts's entertaining tome. His narrative voice is upbeat throughout this travelling tale, blending humour and pathos to great effect.
I proofread Tales from the Black Meadow, written to complement a music album of the same name, performed by The Soulless Party.
I did not receive a credit for this, though I believe that is because the book was on the verge of release when Kev Oyston of The Soulless Party asked me to check it, plus I had no direct contact with the author.
This volume features a blend of weird and macabre short stories and several short verses. This collection is well worth checking out for its originality and haunting tone.

Jerry Bloom of Wymer UK credited me for subediting this 34,000-word Ritchie Blackmore magazine, More Black than Purple, Issue 39.
As a fan of Ritchie Blackmore and the late Ronnie James Dio - featured on the cover - this job was a pleasure to undertake.
In April 2014 I became editor and publisher of this magazine, as Mr Bloom no longer has time to run it.
This is the acknowledgement page of More Black than Purple, Issue 39, featuring my name credited as subeditor.
As this is predominantly a photo book, it didn't take me long to proofread this 2014 publication for Wymer UK.
A must for all Queen fans.

This is another one I proofread for Wymer UK in 2014.
This is the first sport-related book that I've worked on, which I proofread for Wymer UK in 2014.
In March 2013 I proofread a play called Seven Iron, written by Julian Woodford, who works in Hull. The following link is to a site that relates to Mr Woodford's play:

I have copy-edited and proofread works by several self-published authors.
I have copy-edited and/or proofread for students since 2009, most of which were non-native English speakers.
